Oprah is ready to kick off her new season with a bang. The talk show host will begin her 23rd season by bringing in all 176 Olympians and hosting the special segment in Chicago’s millennium park. See photos and video here.

Olympians on Oprah, that sure seems like the best way to begin the 23rd season of the television show! Somehow Oprah managed to get all 176 of the Beijing Olympic athletes for the premiere of the TV show. The show, which has already been taped, was held in Millennium Park in the heart of Chicago. Over nine thousand fans turned out for the taping of the show, with some standing in line for hours.

The athletes were welcomed with a cascade of red, white and blue confetti, and Oprah who said:

“I speak for millions of Americans when I say, Team USA, you made us stand taller.”.

Harpo Productions says Oprah’s plan for the show was for it to act as a “welcome home celebration” for the athletes and a chance to highlight Chicago for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The 23rd season premiere of the show will air Monday September 8th.
