Heather Schmid may be the target of terrorist threats due to photos of her with ex- Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf. Her management has requested for the FBI to get involved. See pictures and video here.
Heather Schmid is a celebrated classical vocalist, and star of “The Ambassador” her own reality show which draws 200 million viewers in China. She has also devoted herself to performing in impoverished countries. Now she’s the target of alleged terrorist threats.
It all started after the destructive Pakistani earthquakes in 2006, Schmid flew from Burbank, California to Lahore, Pakistan so that she could raise money for the country by performing in a music festival there.
Interviewed by various media stations she stated:
“After my performance, I introduced myself, and talked about my own brush with tragedy (being present in New York City during 9/11) and how Pakistan stood by my country, and we were shoulder-to-shoulder there for them. I really struck a chord with the people, they really responded to what I was saying.”
According to Fox News, Schmid’s visit earned her so much attention she was also invited to do a private performance at the Governors Mansion for Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan’s then- President.
Shortly after the duo started to appear together frequently on various publications, and then she was deemed by the Pakistani press as “ambassador of peace.”
Schmid had this to say on the situation:
“People just started associating me with him, and soon after that, an Al Qaeda leader announced that anyone associated with Musharraf was a target.”
It’s only within the last few months the weird occurrences began to happen, forcing her management to ask for the FBI to get involved.
“I started to get disturbing phone calls and Facebook requests; my Web site was being hacked in a very slow, clever way. Things like my family photos were being taken and my tour schedule was changed. My webmaster tracked it back to Pakistan, and it was clear from the coding that this was done not by an amateur, but an organized group. “I was then invited to receive a ‘Personality of the Year’ award in Pakistan, but the details were sketchy, and my friend was shocked to find an extremist video on YouTube where myself, Condoleezza Rice and President Bush are the Americans in the video considered as ‘Anti-Islamist’”
According to the FBI Schmid’s case is considered a real threat, and has directed her to change her web server, track calls, strange occurrences, and to higher security while out in certain public areas.
