CBC has a new reality series lined up. The series is titled Battle of the Blades and will feature a tough competition between talents from both the figure skating and the pro hockey world. Read more below and see video after the jump.
CBC has picked up a new reality series titled Battle of the Blades. The show will feature a competition between professional hockey players and figure skaters that have been paired off into teams.
“
We’re looking at the biggest and best names in hockey and skating,” said Layfield. “When the idea got brought to us it was such a no-brainer for us to pick this up because we’ve got such huge sports expertise and a lot of fans who come to watch us for that. We think it’s a great extension of what we already do.”
Battle of the Blades will be produced by Canadian Idol and Project Runway Canada. The series location is still under wraps as well as a scheduled airdate and format. A couple of things have been confirmed though. Battle of the Blades will contain a live studio audience, judges and viewers will be able to vote from home.
