Stephen Colbert had his head shaved by Gen. Ray Odierno, upon an order from Pres. Obama, while filming four episodes of “The Colbert Report” in Baghdad, Iraq.
Stephen Colbert packed up his Comedy Central show “The Colbert Report,” and took it overseas to Camp Victory, the U.S. military headquarters, which is located on the western edge of Baghdad, for hundreds of U.S. troops to enjoy. Colbert is quite possibly the only man alive that could get a rousing applause from troops after telling them that they may get deployed to Afghanistan. The satirist joked with his audience saying that
“It must be nice here in Iraq because I understand some of you keep coming back again and again. You’ve earned so many frequent flyer miles, you’ve earned a free ticket to Afghanistan.”
But it wasn’t until Gen. Ray Odierno accepted a videotaped order from President Barack Obama to have Stephen Colbert’s head shaved that the crowd went nuts. The General lacking hair of his own started the hair cut, and a stylist finished the job.
The four episodes of “The Colbert Report” were filmed in the domed marble hall at Al Faw Palace, and will air on Comedy Central Monday – Thursday at 11:30 p.m. EDT.
We will get you the head shaved pics and video as soon as they are made available to us, but in the meantime check out other Colbert pictures and video below.
