Carrie Prejean’s answer to a question about same-sex marriage may have cost her the Miss California USA crown, and now she will travel to DC to campaign against it.

When asked about same-sex marriage by one of judges, Perez Hilton, Prejean said: “I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman,” which clearly didn’t sit well with Hilton, who is homosexual. Many people, including Carrie herself, felt that her answer to the same-sex marriage question prevented her from coming out victorious.

She now plans to use the momentum from the nationally televised event to campaign against same-sex marriage on a large scale. Prejean will be working with a group called the National Organization for Marriage, which according to her will “protect traditional marriage.”

Carrie Prejean has called her viewpoint on the topic, not politically correct, but “biblically” correct. Critics have pointed to the irony that, while making statements about being morally correct, Prejean has recently had semi-nude photos surface online.
