The speculation is over! After what seems like ages Warner Brothers confirmed to EW that gossip queen Perez Hilton is set to have an imprint with the label he can call his own. The gossip blogger told EW’s Tim Stack that he’s serious about entering the music industry, and that he has a good ear for music, being able to distinguish whether a song is a hit or not. Confident, Hilton also went on to boast that he isn’t limited to being an A&R person, but that he also is a marketing person and manager.
In this case the definition of imprint is a project, unit, or division of a record label company.
It’s reported that the labels’ first signee will be announced by the end of the month with Perez also intending on launching a tour soon after.
Perez Hilton to say the least bears some responsibility for catapulting the careers of performers Mika and Lady Gaga amongst others.
