Christian Rock group Mercy Me’s tour bus was involved in a fatal crash on Saturday. Read more and see photos and video here.
The band was leaving Parkview Field in Indiana and heading for the next show in St. Louis when the unthinkable happened. A car carrying three individuals reportedly crashed into their tour bus. In the car were a man and two women, one of the women, Kara Klinker, was 35 weeks pregnant.
All three of the individuals (and the unborn child) in the other car were killed. All of the band members walked away from the crash. Band member Bart Milliard tweeted about the incident shortly after, saying:
“Car just hit our tour bus. We are ok, but 2 in the car did not make it.”
Witnesses claim that the Mercy Me bus crash was not the fault of the tour bus driver, rather that the other car turned in front of them as they proceeded through a green light.
Here is a statement from Mercy Me regarding the bus accident:
“MercyMe would like to express their incredible heartache over this horrible accident. They are praying for the families of all who this will affect, and are asking others to please pray as well. The band and crew sustained minor bumps and bruises, however their hearts are heavy. They appreciate the concern they have received from people all over the world.”
The show that the band was en route to has been canceled.
