Those following Big Brother 11 noticed that around 2:40 AM Pacific Coast time, Chima was suddenly gone. The live feed reportedly cut off around 1:30AM, and when it returned she was nowhere to be found.

Just before the feed was lost, Chima threw her wireless mic into the Jacuzzi, and flipped off the camera.

I suppose it could have been expected, as things had gotten a little intense in the Big Brother house over the last few days. There is still no sign of Chima, and some have speculated that executive produced Allison Grodner was involved in her decision to quit.

Her sudden absence has left viewers of Big Brother 11 wondering how Thurday’s vote will go now that there will be an even number of people on the jury. We’re guessing they may resort to the seldom used rule that allows the viewers to cast the seventh vote.

Chima isn’t the first person to quit Big Brother on their own volition. Back in season nine, Neil left on his own free will. There have also been a handful of contestants removed by producers without being voted off.

A contributing factor to Chima deciding to quit could have been her confrontations with Russell, whom she called a terrorist. The producers cleverly edited the incident to make it seem as though the comment was about how he was acting, not his ethnicity. Chima even referred to herself as the “twin towers,” apparently implying that she had been victimized by him.

I guess we’ll have to wait until Thursday to see how they’ll handle the next vote.
