Jessica Simpson’s Melrose Place tweet has become the comment heard around the world. The singer, whose sister Ashlee was just let go by the show, let it rip this week.
In a move that seemed to come out of nowhere, Ashlee’s character will now be written off the show. Executive Producer Todd Slavkin explains the decision here:
“Well, we always knew that this murder mystery would end in episode 12. And we always knew that [Ashlee's] character of Violet would be instrumental in that as a suspect, and [Colin's character of] Augie as well. And once that murder mystery was solved, she would go on her way…”
Is that code for ‘she’s not that great an actress’?
Either way, her big sis came to her defense today with a strongly worded tweet. Jessica seems to think that without her sister being on board this season, no one would have watched to begin with.
Here’s Jessica Simpson’s Melrose Place bomb in its entirety:
“CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap? i have had bad scripts to work with, but this? thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press.”
Ouch! Anyway, little sis Ashlee handled it a lot better when the word first got out that she would no longer be on the show. Slavkin said she “took it like (a) professional.”
Way to take the high road Ash! As for Jessica, I have a feeling any guest appearance on the CW may be out of the picture for a while!

Looks like J.S. won’t be hired by these producers or anyone thinking of hiring her in the future for fear of her getting crazy on her tweets and bad-mouthing them. Stupid is as Stupid does. Forrest Gump
