Usually it’s the other way around: the parents give the kids an allowance. Well, apparently Joe Jackson doesn’t see it that way because he’s seeking a nice fat monthly payment from his deceased son’s estate.
Various individuals have been clamoring to get their paws on MJ’s money, and now his father has joined them. His attorney claims that he lives off of a monthly social security check of about $1,700. Prior to his son’s death, he alleges, Joe relied on monetary support from Michael.
The paperwork filed on Joe Jackson’s behalf read in part:
“He does not have a regular or steady source of income, and he was dependent upon the money provided by his son, Michael Jackson, through his wife, Katherine Jackson, for his support.”
It’s interesting to me that it said “through his wife, Katherine Jackson…” because that really is the crux of the matter. Nowhere in MJ’s will does he mention his father, and it has been widely publicized that Michael and his father weren’t exactly BFFs. The will did, however, include a provision of support for his mother Katherine—do you get my drift?
It sounds to me like they are trying to say that Michael’s support of Joe was IMPLIED by his support of Katherine, therefore it should continue with a direct monthly allotment.
So just how much does he want? $15,000 a month! Wow, it’s amazing that Jackson’s estate can take all of these requests; I mean people have made all kinds of claims on it already. There’s already $86,000 a month being doled out between Katherine and the kids, if you add in Joe’s request, it comes to about $1.2 million a year! And that doesn’t include his donations to charity, and other claims by other individuals.

personally I think the whole thing needs to be investigated a little more on two scores:
1. Joe’s claim that he always received money from MJ in care of his wife Katherine - I have no doubt that maybe Katherine did use to give him money, but if she was in the habit of doing that every month, why didn’t she claim / explain that in her request for a monthly stipend herself?
2. The idea that all he has is a social security check coming in, but almost every time we see him on tv he is talking about some company or the other that he is involved / working / got shares in, so what about incomes from those things?
Finally, maybe Joe should look at trying to live within his means. I saw another report where they broke down the lump sum being requested & a major portion of that was hotel expenses and eating out. Are those really necessary? Can’t he avoid so much travelling and eat in / cook for himself instead of eating out?

If Joe Jackson wants money, then he can he just go out and MAKE some money.
And if Katherine Jackson wants to give Joe some of money, then she can just hand him part of the $26,000 that she gets every month from Michael’s estate.
Good Lord, these people are so greedy. It’s no wonder that Michael just holed up in his house and never came out. His family just had their greedy hands out all over the place. They probably never gave him a moments peace.
I just hope that there is still money left for Michael’s children when they come of age. The attorney’s are going to have to work extra hard to keep any money there for Michael’s children the way the greedy adult Jacksons are trying to blow through it all before Michael’s children even get a chance to grow up.
But…that’s what Joe and Katherine Jackson did with Michael’s money that he made as a child, they spent it all before Michael grew up, that’s why Michael ended up supporting the entire family after he went solo. So I guess Joe and Katherine have not changed at all. Still financially irresponsible.
I wish Michael had left his estate 100% to his children, with his mothers living expenses being handled by the estate, and not by a “cash in hand” basis.
The rest of the Jacksons can just GET A JOB!

First this fool says that photoshopped Michael in his last performance now he says he wants money. How do you get money from supposedly fake Michael. His dad was a ahole before Michael died and now an even bigger on in death. Any judge that gives that fool money needs to be removed from the bench. Can this idiot prove that Katherine was giving him some of her money that Michael provided for her. I doubt it. You say you’re promoting a group of has beens. Keep that going or here’s a thought since there are a lot of seniors still having to work for a living, how bout you get a job you moronic f!!!!!

Joe deserves the money; he is Michaels father & help build him. MJ had lots of vultures around him that didnt mean him any good & they were paid. Joe Jackson deserves the money, even in Michaels death. no matter what you say, whoever you are out there, I’m sure u didn’t even appreciate Michael; get a life!

Dee, where were you when the media announced Michael’s “Will” all over God’s creation; the children get 40%, hellooooooooo. so that should answer you question about the childrens portion. I dont look at the family as being greedy; now that he is gone who else other than his chrildren do you think should get his money?????? you have the promotors, and everybody and there mama’s hands out. The man’s family are the ones who should get his money. Put on your thinking cap; his entire family suffered and thats who should get his money; they should decide amongst themselves; GET SMART; stop hating
