Nelly Furtado is at it again. This time she’s tossed a few stinging remarks Madonna’s way. Why would Nelly even attempt to take on power house Madonna? Because Nelly prefers to age gracefully and Madonna is fighting the aging process tooth and nail.
Nelly says she refuses to give in to the struggle to stay in tip top shape like Madonna and instead prefers to “sit in the kitchen, drink tea and eat biscuits” as opposed to Madonna doing “Pilates round the clock.” Admittedly, at times Madonna does look a bit too fit. Especially her wiry and veiny arms which have been photographed and commented on all over the world wide web. While taking on Madonna the queen of pop is rather risque this isn’t the first feud Nelly Furtado has started.
Back in 2007 Nelly blasted singer Fergie for similar lyrics in Fergie’s “Fergalicious” song. It seems that the same word: “promiscuous” was used in Fergie’s song and Nelly had released the song titled “Promiscuous”. Nelly assumed Fergie was talking about her and Fergie bit back that is was so not about her, it was about Fergie, herself. Meow!
Fergie told radio host Ryan Seacrest: “Something went down with the lyrics of a song and she thought I was talking about her because we had similar lyrics when our albums came out and it wasn’t even true.”
Furtado responded to Fergie’s comments the following day: “We spoke about it face to face… we kinda cleared it up about a month ago,” Furtado said. “I thought it was water under the bridge. I threw the first punch technically, thinking she had thrown the first punch. She told me she did not and then I said, ‘You know what, I’m sorry’. I’m not a bully, I’m just an artist and when you’re an artist you have a certain artistic license and when you feel things intuitively and you feel like you’ve been insulted or hurt you just react.”
Sounds kind of silly doesn’t it? Same thing again with Madonna. Only my guess would be that instead of verbal sparring Madonna could easily kick Nelly’s butt! Remember the golden rule ladies, if you don’t have anything nice to say…
Here are some more photos of Madonna and Nelly Furtado.
Here is a video from 1994, the infamous interview with Madonna and David Letterman. It shows just how difficult Madonna can be. Watch your back, Nelly!

It’s easy for Nelly Furtado to say all this now while she’s still in her 30’s.
Check back with her 20 years from now and we’ll see.

I was a baby when the letterman interview happened. i watched the letterman interview. madonna is soooooooo cool. She looks like someone who would give the world the finger. I can understand why she is the queen. No artist gives an interview like this one, refusing to leave, wanting to stay on T.V., saying f@#k sooooo many times, talking about sex and underwear and on a live show.
Great interview, I now have a greater appreciation for madonna.

I agree with Nelly and I’m glad she’s just being real and not fighting the age battle that EVERYONE loses. Nelly is gorgeous and she will age with grace and natural elegance. Nice to hear, Nelly.
Madonna brings October 31st every place she goes and Nelly reminds me that natural beauty does still exsist in this world. I met Nelly when she had ZERO..and I mean..ZERO makeup and she was purrrty.
Women used to be on that side of being natural and one in a while, throwing on something nice for a special event and have fun. Now they pretend that being an aging trash bin in fishnets with popping veins and a pulled-pork face is attractive and womanly. Puh-lease.

Are you kidding me? OK Nelly, it’s easy for you to say now that your just 30. BTW, someone said Madonna “brings halloween with her 24/7″ No she doesn’t. Madonna hardly even wears make-up unless she’s out to dinner or on a photoshoot or other professional function. Madonna has beautiful skin and apparently not afraid to go out with no make-up on.

aussie aussie aussie - Madonna HAS given the world the finger…a lot of times. Nelly needs to take a step back, see what Madonna has done in her life and see that she isnt God’s gift and could learn a lot of things from Madonna. Grow up, Nelly. Madonna probably doesnt even know who she is, haha.
