Buju Banton Arrested With 5 Kilos of Cocaine! Just when you are on top of the world you do something stupid like get arrested with a bunch of cocaine, now Banton is in a world of trouble.
Reggae singer Buju Banton was in the news this month because of his best reggae album Grammy nomination and now he is back in the news in a whole different way. Banton, a Jamaican performer whose real name is Mark Anthony Myrie, is in federal prison in Miami on drug charges.
In case you’ve never heard of Buju Banton (and not everyone has) Banton has a Grammy nomination for his ninth album, “Rasta Got Soul.” The album has wreaked havoc already among the gay and lesbian community. Banton’s song “Boom Bye Bye,” advocates shooting gays in the head and setting them on fire.
While Banton’s supporters point out that the song was written when the reggae artist was 15, his critics say recent comments show Banton’s attitude toward gays has not changed. After meeting with a group of gay leaders and activists this, Jamaican ‘murder music’ singer Buju Banton had this to say:
“This is a fight, and as I said in one of my songs ‘there is no end to the war between me and faggot’ and it’s clear. The same night after I met with them (gay associates), they pepper-sprayed the concert. So what are you trying to tell me? I owe dem nothing, they don’t owe I nothing.”
Banton has been in custody since Thursday, arrested on a charge of conspiracy to possess, with intent to distribute, more than 5 kilograms of cocaine. Though Banton is being held in Miami, the case in question is based in Tampa, Fla., where he will be transferred. If convicted, he faces as many as 20 years in prison.

Where are you getting your facts? the song “boom Bye Bye was recorded in 1991. It’s been the gay agenda to persecute him for a song released close to 20 year ago…Get your facts straight!

Recorded in 92
performed any times since them
sold millions of times online–each time preachign genocide
never apologize for
it’s clear that the gay community was correct about buju’s character, or lack of.

Actually, Boom Bye Bye was recorded in 1988 (which means he wrote it when he was 15) but wasnt released until 1992 when his popularity soared in Jamaica. And he owns no rights to the song, its not on any of his albums,he gains no profits from the song. No one purchases the song, they illegally hi jack it off the internet. And who cares if he does, then dont buy his music or go to his shows. This is 1 song out 100’s while most of his music is about love and peace. Get to know all of the aspects of a man before jumping on the bandwagon of ignorant idiots that need to have drama and confrontation to get through the day. Now on his arrest, as a longtime fan, and have actually done alot of research on him, i feel that there is some crooked crap going on here. And if there is, Jah will bring it all to light in 1 way or another.Jah Bless, I&I!

i also am a long time fan of buju and very puzzled about how he could be involved in matters such as this but nevertheless will continue to enjoy his music , because one song that is twenty years old seems to be the only “bullet in the gun” that these “people”can use as ammo. to try and derail a man’s means of income ! “People” meaning those who have nothing better to do with their time, because guess what , while you are all talking about him and how he “owes” the gay community whatever it is they want , he has continued to produce hit after hit while you all are doing what?try fixing all that is wrong in the world poverty, AIDS,dictators , take your pick, my point is get constructive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
