There is no other way to say it than the second month of this year was crazy as far as returns for playthings and more. February 2010 children’s toys recalls were numerous and on a variety of kid’s and parents’ favorites. See below the picture for more.
Pull toys may have loose parts that present a choking hazard. Jewelry sets may have too much lead in them. Wind chimes may break apart revealing sharp metal edges. All of the scenarios put the little tykes at risk and must be dealt with, and believe it or not there are even more. Continue to learn all about the recalls, including a video!
Throughout February 2010, children’s toys recalls seemed to keep popping up everywhere. This article lists several of the dangerous items along with information on what to do. And it isn’t limited to just toys. Other items, such as strollers, cribs, lamps, and even greeting cards have been pulled from the shelves. The St. Petersburg Times also has some information on these products. You can always check out the Consumer Product Safety Commission, for up to date safety issues.
This is just scary! Can you imagine if you had a Toyota, and were pushing your son or daughter around in your Britax umbrella stroller, while he or she played with a “Pull-A-Long” friend? All of these items mentioned are being recalled due to some inferior or dangerous qualities.
Oh! And don’t forget once you tuck them “safely” in bed that the drop-side crib or Discovery Kids Lamps may be defective as well. I know nothing can be made perfectly all the time, and that from time to time things will come up. I mean, no one likes to think it could harm our little ones, but mistakes happen. It is just crazy to see how much of this came out at about the same time.
As we waved goodbye to February 2010, children’s toys recalls have hopefully gone away as well. Tell me your thoughts and if you’ve been affected below, after you check out this video of how Toy ‘R Us handles it!
