For better or worse, Britney Spears knows how to make a splash with the media. March has been her month, with news of a #1 record debut set for next week, and a major tour announcement to boot, she has once again stolen the moment.
Today it was announced that ‘Femme Fatale’ will likely debut at the top of the Billboard charts—knocking off Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E.
Estimates put sales at around 300,000 during its first week, which should help boost radio play and build hype for her recently announced tour.
Starting last weekend, she made a grand re-entrance into the music world with a surprise concert in Las Vegas, an energetic performance on GMA, and a hilarious appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, which garnered headlines for a nasty stunt involving a port-o-let.
Perhaps the only minor blemish during her remarkable comeback has been a little tour drama. Yesterday news hit that Enrique Iglesias was considering withdrawing from Britney’s tour because he wasn’t being given an equal spot on the bill. As if in response to the hang-up, MTV reports that Spears may be holding out hope for Usher to join her on the road.
So far there is no word on whether or not she will get her wish, but I think Usher would be a much better fit.
