Mad Men star Bryan Batt can now add author to his amazing list of talents. You can learn all about Bryan and his new book below, which as always includes pictures and video.
Actor Bryan Batt, who plays Sal Romano on Mad Men, can now call himself a writer. Bryan recently released his memoir ‘She Ain’t Heavy, She’s My Mother” and yes if you couldn’t tell by the title Batt celebrates his mother in the new book. Bryan basically tells the story of his relationship with his mother Gayle in a way that is full of heartwarming stories about her and growing up in the south. Plus he divulges how the two carried each other through life’s ups and downs.
If you have seen Bryan in action on any show you know he is unbelievably talented. The New Orleans born and raised Batt had show business in his blood since the day he was born. His mother Gayle was a dancer and actress too. After attending the New Orleans prep school Isidore Newman School, Bryan headed off to pursue his dream of acting. He soon found himself on the stage in regional plays like Romeo and Juliet and Evita. After proving he had the chops to make it Batt finally got work on Broadway appearing in plays like Saturday Night Fever, Beauty and The Beast and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Although he is best known for his stage work and of course playing Sal Romano, Batt has also appeared on the big screen in films like Funny People and Kiss Me Guido. Most recently he appeared on the ABC television show Ugly Betty.
Bryan currently lives with his partner Tom Cianfichi whom he has been with for over eighteen years. The couple owns Hazelnut which is a home decor and furnishing store in New Orleans. Bryan and Tom met when they were both in the regional play of Evita in Ohio.
He may no longer star on Mad Men but Bryan Batt certainly left his mark on the show and Hollywood too. Although it was clearly his big break Batt was proving what a talented actor he is long before he ended up at Sterling Cooper.
Let me get this straight real quick Bryan is an actor, designer, store owner and now a writer. Yep he is one talented guy. Enjoy the pictures and video!
