It has been quite an interesting year for Hollywood star Casey Affleck. Harassment charges and a controversial Joaquin Phoenix documentary have kept him busy and under scrutiny. You have to catch the rest of the story, including more photos and videos, below.
Amanda White and Magdalena Gorka both worked on ‘I’m Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix’ with the actor and both filed suits against him a few months ago claiming he treated them improperly. They both left the project and awaited a settlement.
Well now after a few months the Casey Affleck harassment allegations have been dismissed and a statement was released that plainly said:
“The disputes between Flemmy Productions, LLC and Casey Affleck with Amanda White and Magdalena Gorka in connection with the film ‘I’m Still Here’ have been resolved to the mutual satisfaction of the parties.”
According to the original claims they were both allegedly sexually harassed and weren’t paid for their work. White’s case against him cited some specifics stating that he allegedly:
“repeatedly referred to women as ‘cows’; he discussed his sexual exploits and those of other celebrities that he allegedly witnessed; and asked [White], after learning her age, ‘Isn’t it about time you get pregnant?’”
White and Gorka sought $2 & $2.5 million respectively, but after an undisclosed settlement the legal action is being dropped. The celebrity’s attorney felt that these claims were “preposterous and without merit,” from the start and is glad to see it resolved.
As for the project they all worked on the two women will get credit and we will soon hear what everyone thinks of the outcome. What do you think about the Casey Affleck harassment claims and the resolution of the case? Also let me know what you think about their film after you check out these photos and videos.
