After he made some pointed comments about the president, several Glenn Beck advertisers have pulled out, with the number now at five. Read more and see photos and video here.

Last week, Glenn Beck called Barack Obama a “racist” with “deep-seated hatred for white people.” Shortly after, an organization with ties to the administration heavily lobbied the advertisers to pull out of the program, and so far five have done so.

Color Of Change, an organization that one conservative website calls a “racially charged activist group” has called on several of Glenn Beck’s advertisers to no longer run ads during his show.

The Huffington Post seems to be claiming partial credit for starting the movement against Beck. Here’s part of what they posted on their website:

“…we asked Color Of Change members to call on Beck’s advertisers to pull their funding from his show. More than 50,000 people have already joined the call, and today we have great news to report — advertisers are starting to listen…“

Some have pointed to a conflict of interest between the administration and the group, claiming that they are trying to silence a chief critic of the president.

That claim stems from the fact that the founder of Color Of Change is Van Jones, special advisor of Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

Others have applauded the move, saying that the kind of “hateful” language Glenn Beck used on the program should be alarming to the advertisers who help fund it.

The companies that have pulled ads so far are as follows: SC Johnson, Progressive Insurance, Geico, Procter & Gamble and Nexus Lexis (lawyers.com). Ouch!

What do you think, should the companies have pulled support of Glenn Beck’s show? Or do you think he should have the right to say what he likes (barring threats) about the president?

Let us hear your opinion in the comments section below.

If you read any of Obama’s books you will see that what Glenn is saying is what Obama said himself. In Dreams of My Father he writes “I ceased to advertise my mothers race at the age of 12-13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites” or “I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race (white)” or ” There was something about him that made my wary, a little to sure of himself, maybe. And white.”
These are Obamas words not Glenn Becks. What is wrong with corporate america, I fear they are in bed with the government, we need to boycott those involved.

Obama doesn’t hide the fact that he is a racist. If you question anything this Administration does you are labeled a racist. It is supposed to make you run scared and be quiet. The Liberal Hypocrites don’t want any of the truth about Obama to come out. People just don’t want to see it. The have been successful so far in covering up what this man actually is, but people are slowly waking up. I just hope its not too late.
Beck is an honest upstanding man, how dare he speak the truth.

Glenda Knower, Glen Beck went off the deep end when he called Obama a “racist”. No one said anything about him questioning the administration. I even question the administration, but I’m not losing my marbles. Beck is…and anyone who supports Mr. Beck and this type of attitude is just as bad. And by the way Harvey, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are products of the civil rights movement. They’ve seen racism first hand. And for you to make that comment shows you are not sensitive as well. I hope one day we all can look past color and look at the people. But we have to stand up for the poor and all people of color before we can stand upright for America!

It’s a pretty sad day in America when these advertisers side with ColorofChange.org and Van Jones who is a self proclaimed Communist, rather than Glenn Beck who is trying to get the truth out. Let these cowardly advertisers go down in flames, and then run to administration for a bailout.

many of you are right, Glenn Beck has the right to free speech. and maybe you are also right that white people should stand together. unfortunately, i don’t agree that people of any color should stand up to support racism, lies, and pure propaganda. that’s why i boycotted Glenn Beck’s advertisers (before Huffington or Color of Change’s request). i am personally tired of the ranting about nonsense that is untrue and really just incites people for no reason.
if Obama starts another war unwarranted, i say, let’s be loud about how unfair and unamerican it is. white people, black people, let’s all stand up…together. i believe it is unfair and unamerican not to provide healthcare for all americans.
ever see the work doctors without borders is doing? they go to third world countries and the US to provide free healthcare to people who can’t afford it…some of these people have health insurance but can’t afford the copays or the premiums…is it really doctors without borders’ responsibility to provide healthcare for americans? why don’t these people deserve healthcare? because they weren’t born in a third world country? now, that’s unamerican

If you’d like a preview of federally run health care look at the indian reservations. They are all given federally funded health care the same health care Obama wants all of us to have. The saying on the reservations is “don’t get sick or hurt after June”, that’s because there is no more money until next year. They are putting up with rationed care, poor quality care or no care at all. Is this what we want? And if its so great why arent Congress, the House, the Senate & The Anointed One getting the same plan? Hmmmm doesnt sound good to me.
