Stepping onto his middle-school stage and wowing his entire school, this 6th grader’s acoustic impression of Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi earned him a gig on a daytime talk show. For Greyson Michael Chance, Ellen’s invitation on her show represents the chance of a lifetime. If he can put on a show like he did in his hometown, he’s got it made. If you’ve seen the viral video of the 12-year-old’s performance, you know that this kid can belt with the best of them .Some say he’s the new Justin Beiber, but he says his inspiration lies elsewhere.
On his YouTube profile, where his video has over a million hits, he says:
“Lady Gaga is a freak but she has so much talent and her style of music is what I would like mine to be when im (sic) older,” he writes and “Augustana is one of the most underated (sic) bands I think ever to step the planet.”
Augustana is a folk rock band with a moderate following. This afternoon, inviting as a musical guest Greyson Michael Chance, Ellen says she is thrilled to give the young singer a chance, and to see him perform in person. She tweeted yesterday:
“Never been more excited to have someone on my show. This is a 12-year-old 6th grader. He’ll be on Thursdays show. Enjoy (link to his YouTube video)”

Wow! He is absolutely amazing! My dad showed me the video last night and my jaw dropped to the floor. He has SO much talent! I would by a cd of his in a heart beat. And I think he can reach to a variaty of audiances because like I said my Dad, who’s 57 liked it and I loved it! He’s going to be huge!

A friend of facebook posted this video and I almost fell off my chair! I showed my daughter this morning and she loved it! I for sure will watch Ellen on Thursday. I also do believe that this kid can make it, he has such a sweet angelic look on his face, almost humble, when he finished his song. Bravo!

This kid is AMAZING! And he’s only 12???? Are you sure this isn’t some 35-year-old midget in a kid suit? This boy is going to be a major talent on about 5 years! I hope somebody is smart enough to sign him up right now to a recording deal. I am just stunned. Tremendous talent!

I just seen this video today. This kidd has some great talent. I think He will make it in the music industry. MannI got the chills listenin to him sing. And i will most definitly watch Ellen today when im done with skool! Give him two thumbs up!!

This young man has REALLY got talent! When I showed my daughter, she said the same thing I was thinking when I watched it the first time… do the folks in the backround realize that they are watching history in the making? If he does not get a major record deal, the music world will have lost BIG TIME! Awesome! Super Great! Terrific!

Now this is an American Idol. Just look around on the Internet and You will find wonderful kids singing and dancing and playing the organ and piano like a pro. More people need to see this on TV. Thanks to Ellen for doing so. Now these kids are the true American Idols of today not just ones 4 judges pick to be on tv show and let us pick the one we like. Just look at Justin Berber from the Internet.

Greyson is amazing!!! A true talent, not like some wannabes on the charts that have looks only. This kid has the goods as a musician and a vocalist. His songwriting is good considering his age–he will get much better with that. Looking forward to seeing Greyson on Ellen. You go Greyson!!!

Okay…”WOW” is all I can say.
I had not seen this video until now. Like most of you, my jaw just dropped. Amazing!!!
I too wondered if the students in the background really knew what they were witnessing.
