Jillian Michaels: Fat As A Kid?

Was Jillian Michaels fat? The biggest Loser’s Jillian Michaels recently confessed that she was in fact fat as a kid, which gives her even more credibility on the show.

She has now become a weight loss expert who has helped others in need. It seems her personal experience allows her to relate to the people on the show. She recently revealed that as a 5-foot-tall teenager she weighed in at 175 pounds. Her lack of self-esteem caused her to act out. She says:

“I was ditching school, failing classes, stealing the car, going through pretty much everything that a terrible teen goes through…”

So how was she able to turn her adolescent struggles into something others can learn from? She credits her parents for stepping up to support her in much the same way she does people on the show:

“My mom got me into therapy and got me into martial arts. And that’s really where my personal approach comes from. I get the tough-love approach from martial arts…”

Her success on The Biggest Loser has now spawned her own spin-off called Losing It With Jillian, where she will undoubtedly employ some of the techniques that worked so well for her own struggles with weight.

It’s good to see someone who has actually been through it on these kinds of shows. I always think back to Celebrity Fit Club, which had a panel that included a drill sergeant. It always struck me as absurd to have a man who has probably been fit his entire life basically talking down to the contestants. Maybe that’s why Jillian is so effective.

    Dear Jillian,

I don’t know if you will ever see this, but I just wanted to get this off my chest. I’m a 61 year old grandmother and I don’t believe I look as old as I am, however, in the past 8 years or so, I have gained a lot of weight. I know how I did it, but the only way I can loose it for a while, is to just stop eating. I don’t exercise. I work 8 hours a day, and when I get home, I know I don’t eat right – mostly snack at night, but I don’t feel like cooking. Sure don’t feel like exercising. I have had a little problem with my back and the joint in my right leg act like it wants to come out of my hip, but we don’t have insurance to check it out. I only wished I could have you around for a little bit to help me get on track and see if I could take off 50 or 60 lbs. I would never be able to stand on “The Biggest Loser” in front of the world, my family, pastor and friends like those people I so admire. Like I said, just wanted to get this off of my chest. Maybe I’ll get motivated by doing it. :) – God Bless and Keep you. I’m proud of you. I can’t believe you have ever weighed over 115 lbs!!

But u see I am 12 yrs old and 2 months ago I weighed at 175 pounds I know that is awful but know I am 150 pounds I am just so proud to say that! But now I’m trying to get to 140 pounds because like all the girls in my class are so skinny and I feel so fat with all the blubber and like all of my friends have boyfriends cuz they are so skinny but if I was skinny like them I couled someone to like me 2. But the reason I’m here is that I go to the gym everyday exept Wednesday and Sunday and on the days I do go to the gym I run a mile on incline for 15 min and then I take eather a bootcamp session for 1 hour or a TMC class for 1 hour but my question to u is that I keep staying at 150 I’m trying to get to 140 but the 15O won’t budge down what do I do?
