Justin Bieber will take the lead alongside heavy-hitters Nicki Minaj and Rihanna on a benefit album for Japan, which is quickly being pieced together for release.
I’ve been anything but shy about the slow celebrity response to the disaster in Japan. Like many, I have pointed out the disparity between Hollywood’s reaction to the Quake and the resulting Tsunami, and their reaction to Haiti.
We’ve had a handful of A-listers put forth a notable effort so far, including Mike Shinoda, Lady Gaga, and Charlie Sheen, but it’s been few and far between. Most have chosen to encourage donations via Twitter rather than take part in any sort of tangible campaign.
Now we can add the Biebs to the list of people who are not going to sit idly by.

More on that in a bit. Meanwhile here are some weekly hot links:

…now back to the story. Once again, I’m impressed with young Mr. Bieber. It seems like he is always doing the right thing. Could it be that kids finally have someone to look up to that isn’t snorting coke?
Be on the look out for the benefit album. It is expected to come out sometime in the next few weeks. With that list of stars on it, I’m betting it will sell like crazy.
What do you think about the Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj relief album?
