The time has arrived where Kim Kardashian, fashion-maven/socialite/reality star, has finally blessed us with the radio premiere of “Jam (Turn it Up)”, her first single, on Ryan Seacrest this morning.
Did I really just type that? Had I known 6 years ago this would happen, I would have prepared myself mentally.
After giving the song a few (okay-maybe more than a few) quick seconds of my day, I’ve officially decided I can also write a smash song and auto tune the heck out of it and if I can get a bit more of a hump in my backside, I could probably get a record deal. Maybe I need rich parents to help offset some of the costs, but at the end of the day, ANYONE can write a song if they have the right people behind them.
My goodness! She is practically TALKING the entire song. Why does someone talking have to be auto-tuned? I don’t get it.
Some of the lyrics? “Feeling so good, feeling so right. Got my hands up! Celebrate like it’s my birthday. Five more shots of tequila, I’m thirsty! Feeling so good, I’m feeling so great tonight.”
Yay for America’s role-models telling our children to drink up! Given, I’ve always liked that Kim wasn’t an anorexic chick telling the world that in order to be sexy you must be thin. But that was something she was genetically blessed with (for the most part, I mean we can tell she’s totally had botox to the face lately). But when your words (and credit cards) are putting those that look up to you at risk, there’s a problem!
If you want to listen to this atrocity of a song, you can check it out Here at Celebrity Video.
I’d love to know your thoughts. Am I being too harsh? And please spare me the “she isn’t TRYING to be a role-model”. Once you’re in the public eye, gigs up!
