Like most with real talent, the late King Of Pop is still reigning—even after leaving the physical realm. But just how successful has his posthumous career been?

Michael Jackson

Now that the two-year mark has reared its head, fans and the media are marveling at the hefty buzz that still surrounds anything MJ related.

Take “This Is It” for example. MTV reports that the movie has grossed over $260 million worldwide. Sadly, he wasn’t around for even a moment of that success.

Meanwhile, Neilsen SoundScan reports that there have been over 16 million digital downloads of his music since his passing.

But the most staggering of all for me is the return on some of his investments. Simply for having a major stake in a massive Sony Music catalog, Jackson’s estate grosses anywhere between $30 and $50 million.

Talk about passive income.
