The Paranormal Activity 3 trailer hit the web today and my mouth is dripping with some kind of scary horror-fanatic slobber at the mere thought of this film.
You can see the trailer below…but here are my thoughts first:
I remember watching a boot legged copy of the Blair Witch project in the late nineties and thinking that films like that would never have a future in the movie industry.
Heck, we were fresh off of some big budget, blockbuster horror flicks at the time, and the shaky, low-quality film was laughable.
Boy, have these kinds of films come a long way. The genre of “is it real or not?” is raking in millions these days, with Paranormal Activity at the helm.
Sure, the second one was pretty awful, but I think the franchise is out to redeem itself this time around.
The third movie in the series is actually a prequel of a prequel. We are being teased with the idea that we will finally learn how the evil demon came into Katie’s life. It shows an idyllic family life, captured on home video back when Katie and her sister were young.
They play games, jump on the trampoline, and even do Bloody Mary in the bathroom. But wait! What is that shadowy figure in the mirror?
That’s actually a valid question. Based on the shape of the footprints left in the talcum powder on the floor, this thing is supposed to be some huge, snarling beast right?
Then who is the witch looking broad in the bathroom?
Those are the questions on my mind, and I will take them with me to the theatre when the film premieres. Until then, check out the trailer below.
