Ryan Kwanten is a 33-year-old actor whose beautiful face might be one of the main reasons for tuning in to HBO’s hit television show, “True Blood.”
Though his Southern accent on “True Blood” is super convincing, you might be surprised to know that Ryan was actually born in Sydney, Australia! Continue to find out more about him!
He made his first television appearance in 1992 on a show called “A Country Practice”, where he appeared in two episodes. He made a few other minor appearances on shows shows such as “Hey Dad!” and “Water Rats” however, it wasn’t until 1997 that he truly started to get recognition.
In 1997, he appeared in a season of “Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord” and began working on the award-winning Australian soap opera “Home and Away.” He starred in 32 episodes of the show as lifeguard Vinnie Patterson, running from 1997-2002.
It was his decision to leave the show and later moved to the United States, where he continued to get more work. From 2004-2005, Ryan starred on the hit teen show “Summerland” and played the role of Jay Robertson. After moving to the U.S. he starred in a few films such as “Flicka” and “Dead Silence”, in which he played the lead role.
However, he is likely most known for his role on the HBO series “True Blood”, where he plays the adorable Jason Stackhouse. He began playing the role of Jason in 2008. Michelle Forbes, who starred in season 2 of “True Blood” as Maryann, described Ryan as being reserved and quiet but also said he’s really intelligent.
Could we ask for anything more? He’s got the brains and the beauty! Look out for more of Ryan when he returns in the next season. He suggested that country singer Taylor Swift should make an appearance on the show. Interesting! Maybe we’ll see her! “True Blood” will be returning with season three in June of this year. Take a look at Ryan being interviewed at the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
