The CW has officially managed to reel in one more missing original member of the bunch. Shannen Doherty has signed on to reprise her role as Brenda Walsh. Check out videos and photos after the jump.

The CW has officially scored big with their recent cast addition to the upcoming revamped 90210. Sure to grab a large core audience of generations just with the curiousity factor alone, Shannen Doherty’s return, which didn’t seem possible, to the swanky zipcode was confirmed this past week. Doherty who played Brenda Walsh in the original 90210 in the 90′s has apparently been busy all this time living between London and New York as an actress and director. Brenda Walsh will return to play a theater director at her old highschool right next to her old pals Donna Martin and Kelly Taylor.

The show’s executive producer Gabe Sachs says “There will be a musical within our show,” explains Sachs. “She will be the guest director [for the musical].”

The show’s producers, Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah formally of Freaks And Geeks, seemed pretty pleased with their efforts of landing Doherty on their much awaited Fall show. “We definitely wanted her a part of the show,” says executive producer Jeff Judah. “Gabe actually had dinner with her for a couple hours. They got along great. She was phenomenal. We had a lot of ideas and we brought them to her, and she warmed to them. She picked one. We had an idea and knew what she would like because with this show, there’s no shortage of people who are obsessed with the show”.

And it looks likes the creators might not stop there. When asked about the former males of the show Judah and Sachs said “Those are the [only] three,” confirms Judah. “We haven’t spoken to [the others] yet.” Yet being the operative word. If they can score the legendary Doherty with her rumored bad attitude from years past there’s no telling what else they have planned.
