MTV will be doing four more seasons of their hit reality show The Real World, E-online reports. This will bring MTV’s longest running series to the 26 season mark.
Executive producer Jon Murray told the Hollywood Reporter:
“Ordering so many future seasons allows us to plan, it helps us figure out where we’re going next and allows us to do some long-range thinking.”
The Real World Brooklyn featured a few key changes that differed from past seasons; including not providing the cast members with group employment, bumping up the number of roommates from seven to eight, and also including a transgender roommate for the first time ever.
The next chapter of the Real World will be held in Cancun, and is already in the process of filming. It will be the 22nd installment of the series.
The cast will be working for StudentCity.com as tour guides for visiting college students. Murry also told the Hollywood Reporter:
“They’re going to help give people a safe and fun vacation. They also might have to bail somebody out of a Mexican jail, stuff like that.”
MTV is also bringing back the Real World/Road Rules Challenge for 4 more Installments with the first premiering April 8.
The Real World: Brooklyn season finale airs Wednesday, April 1, at 10:00 PM ET/PT. The Real World: Brooklyn Reunion Special will immediately follow.
