Mike Sorrentino, who dubbed himself The Situation, has made one heckuva living acting like a douche on MTV’s The Jersey Shore. Now it seems even his old man is tired of the nonsense.
I admire Mike’s hustle. He has figured out how to brand himself, and even coined a few mildly amusing catch phrases. His womanizing reality TV persona has taken him to a number of places, including Dancing With The Stars—but he is really starting to wear on people.
One person who has apparently had enough of his BS is his father, Frank, who claims that Mike actually “abandoned” the family after he got famous.
I’m not sure whether or not old Frank is trying to pull a Michael Lohan, gaining publicity by making wild claims about his kid, or if he has a legitimate gripe.
It all started when TMZ posted a video of him whining about his son, saying that he tried to ask Mike for a favor and was turned down. The actual quote goes something like this:
“I ask you one f**king favor and you tell me to go f**king be like a regular f**king Joe Blow and go on welfare?”
Granted, we don’t know the back-story between these two. For all we know Frank was a horrible father, and Mike doesn’t want to have anything to do with him. He certainly doesn’t owe his father anything.
But things got even crazier when Frank posted another video, this time making the claim that Mike was given the can at a job all because of a sexual encounter with an older co-worker.
I’m just wondering what the heck that has to do with anything. It’s one thing to say that he won’t cut you a check in a time of need, but why would he mention something like that? If anything it plays right into Mike’s character, and seems like something he would be proud of.
I’m voting that Frank is nothing but a bitter Betty, but we’ll have to wait and see how this one pans out.
